Ans:

• "The Adjustment" is a heart touching story of Nana and Nani.(an aged couple.)

• They lived together more than fifty years yet there was no adjustment between them.

• Though Nana was 85 years old, he quarrelled with Nani as if they were newly married couple.

• They wouldn't talk with each other for many days.

• They would even fight for who was going to die first.( for dying first).

• However differences between them, they were made for each other.

• After the death of Nani, Nana's nature was changed.

• Nana couldn't believe that Nani was no more.

• He imprisoned himself in a room. • He didn't eat and talk with anybody.

• He even did not allow anybody to cart away Nani's belongings.

• Eventually, Nana started behaving as if he were Nani.

• He spoke like Nani.

• He ate what Nani used to eat.

• He thought of himself as Nani.

• Dr K. D. Kamble, a psychiatrist informed that Nana was suffering from mental illness. 【Dissociative Personality Disorder.】

• He also advised the narrator to adjust with Nana just like Nana had adjusted with Nani.

• So we can say that Nana and Nani were made for each other and the title "The Adjustment is suitable. (appropriate).
